Last weekend I asked Globe readers to share their favourite Canadian books – and you delivered. From classics by Margaret Atwood and Margaret Laurence to more contemporary titles by rising writers, this list (which I’ll add to in the coming weeks) is a great jumping off point for getting your CanCon. And of course I extended the same callout to my colleagues here at the Globe, a book-loving bunch if there ever was one. See our list and tell me if you agree.

In book recommendations this week, Globe reader Thelma Fayle re-visited a book she read 50 years ago: Inside the Third Reich by Albert Speer, a haunting book about a megalomaniacal leader that’s more pertinent than ever. As always, I want to hear what you’re reading. Please keep in touch with your book picks.

You can also find our weekly bestsellers list here. Please share this newsletter, and if it was forwarded to you, visit our signup page to subscribe to this and other Globe and Mail newsletters.
